Course Duration

Delivered over 2 days, with additional requirements post face to face delivery, only once 2 day training has been completed learners are required to complete additional practical observations

Course Content

  • Prepare to implement traffic management plan.
  • Set out, monitor and close down traffic guidance scheme.
  • Plan, prepare, identify & assess for risk management.
  • Contribute and review the implementation of risk controls

Course Outcome

On successful completion of the all course requirements and assessments, Learners will be issued with:

  • Statement of Attainment issued by Workzone Training.
  • Department of infrastructure and Transport (DIT) is responsible for issuing TTM ID cards on completion.

The units of competency comprise both theoretical and practical components.

TMI1

  • A practical observation assessment must be undertaken after the practical experience is gained. Practical experience requirements of implementing traffic management plans must be completed on declared Temporary Traffic Management Category 1 roads within at least six months of completing the theoretical component. This can be completed on site or at Workzone Training’s for an additional fee of $95 per participant.
  • On completion of the work experience and Log Book requirements and partial Practical experience requirements, Learners are required to complete an on-site assessment coordinated by Workzone Training.
  • Learners will be assessed on the implementation of 3 different traffic management setups.

Existing Workzone Traffic Management Card (WZTM) card holders:

  • Alternative assessment options are available for existing Workzone Traffic Management Card (WZTM) card holders (ticket needs to be still valid).
  • Have you been working in a TTM role for the last 6 months? You could be eligible for a blended assessment approach.
  • Contact Workzone Training today to discuss alternative assessment options for you or your staff for TC1 and TMI1 courses as well as TC2 and TMI2 courses.

All learners must be 16 years or older and will be required to provide photographic identification upon arriving for their course.

  • Learners must hold the unit CPCWHS1001 Prepare To Work Safely In The Construction Industry or its equivalent unit.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak basic English is required.
  • Learners are required to be reaccredited every 3 years.

Learner Requirements

  • Have a valid Photo ID (i.e. Australian Driver’s Licence, Passport, or Proof of Age Card). This is mandatory for accredited courses.
  • Must have a valid USI to be issued the Statement of Attainment. All information regarding the USI is found at www.usi.gov.au

Personal Protective Equipment

  • Enclosed safety footwear, long pants, and long-sleeved shirts with hi-vis are required.
  • Other sites may have other requirements which will be confirmed at the time of booking.
  • Failure to wear the correct PPE may prevent the participant from completing the practical training and/or assessment.
